Many people at the beginning of a new year will have a New Year's resolution for making better choices in the days to come. There's something we want to improve upon, so we therefore make a plan on how to successfully do that. Common ones are, we want to lose weight, so we make better food choices. We want to be in better shape, so we get to the gym and exercise. The list goes on… BUT...what about our skin?!?
What if everyone knew the hard facts on aging, and that we just lost 1% of our collagen last year, and have been every year since we've been 18! And this isn't including if we have or had lifestyle choices such as smoking, tanning, or an unhealthy diet.
Well, there's good news. The largest organ of our body, what protects our blood vessels, nerves, organs and blocks dangerous environmental hazards, our AMAZING skin can be renewed. Of course, just like with anything, the less damage that has occurred and earlier you start, helps for a faster renewal process. But not to worry, for all the sun worshiping baby boomers, the skin is incredibly forgiving!!!
The saying "better late than never" holds true more than ever when it comes to caring for your beloved skin. So if you look in the mirror, and say "this year I want to renew my skin", the steps to a successful outcome would be...learn about your skin condition, be advised and educated on how to heal the damage, and develop a "skin care action plan" to bring back the collagen that's been viciously stolen all through the years and stop it in its tracks for the future!
Much easier than giving up ice cream and having to make it to the gym all the time, am I right?
